Diving With a Purpose (DWP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting submerged heritage while providing education, training, certification, and field experience in maritime archaeology and ocean conservation. Its work includes documenting and interpreting African slave-trade shipwrecks and preserving African-American maritime history and culture.
DWP also runs programs covering maritime archaeology, coral ecosystem restoration, youth development, and aquatic leadership.
